Geometric Cities
Collage Artist, Cheryl Molnar has been attuned to the tension between human progress and nature. Her work finds similar development patterns in the mixed-use neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where she has lived and worked for many years. During this time, real estate development, along with a fresh wave of gentrification, have significantly altered both the social fabric and the landscape of this formerly working-class enclave. Her colorful collages investigate these topics.
"In my work, I abstract the patterns and shapes to evoke the feeling of these structures without direct representation."
— Cheryl Molnar
